Comic Review: Herogasm #4

Reviews

There’s only one boobie in this whole issue, and still it’s better than #3 to be sure. In fact, if they’d just started this Vic the Veep flashback narrative a bit sooner, it probably could have improved the last issue considerably. Here’s hopin’ this is back on track for the last couple issues.

Huh. Yeah. Starting to think maybe this series should have been a one-shot. Could have had all the laughs, shock and awe, and saved me a few bucks along the way.

Comic Review: Sleeper – Season 1 TPB

Reviews

A brilliant super-powered espionage thriller. Holden Carver is a bad man. This series is right there with any of my all-time favorites. Absolutely masterful storytelling, and totally addicting. If you like Incognito (which everyone does!) and you haven’t read this, go out and get it today. The Season 2 collection is coming in September! Now if only they’d spend a few extra pennies on quality–my book was beat up before I even started (literally)!

Comic Review: Battlefields – The Night Witches #3

Reviews

In the blood soaked snowy end there is a glimpse of possible redemption, but “like a worm, like a snake that bites and bites, giving but one dreadful guarantee…” no one can remain themselves in war – no matter the illusions created on both sides of the battlefield.  Next, Ennis takes us to 1942 and the South China Sea – can’t wait.

Comic Review: The BOYS – Get Some, TPB vol. 2

Reviews

The Boys continue to rid the world of melon/man-droid/butler/cat/chinchilla/owl … meteor humpin supes and then jump on a flight to Russia.  They join forces with love sausage (you’ll see), take a shot of brake fluid, order a face pizza and finally… leave an explosive vibrating surprise.  All this in one book and now I can include “do you wish to deploy relief tube” to my inner monologue.  Get some.

Comic Review: The BOYS TPB Vol. 1: The Name of the Game

Reviews

Everyone knows they would abuse superpowers if they had them.  Most of us would not use the powers for good and the ones that would are boring and/or are made up characters in silly comic books.  The Boys are the reason I don’t misuse my power.  I’ve always wondered who watches us…I’m gonna have to keep reading to catch up.  I wish my Bulldog would f&@* on command instead of when you just have your back turned.

In the sky – Nacht Hexen tactics earn respect from their comrade “Ivan.”  Down below – Herr Feldwebel and his crew lose all respect. I hope Graf goes Taylor on em…”Death, What do you all know about death?”

Russian broads fly outdated planes at night to bomb the Nazis? “Whose bright bloody idea was this anyway? I think it might have been Hitler’s…” next porn script. No, just the Garth Ennis showing the ugly of war.
